Hey! I’m Anne, Co-Creational Relationship Mentor and Welcome to My Website!
My work as a Relationship Mentor just for the record, was not on my list of “what I want to be when I grow up “. Interruptions to my mental health, personal/ inter-personal relationships and wellbeing led me here, just as your respective experiences have led you to my website. The Up-Side… I have the privilege now of mentoring in all environments, co-creating remarkable relationships advocating my personal journey and recovery, accompanying and advocating others on theirs.
I mentor Individuals, Couples, Parents, facilitate parent support groups in schools and have facilitated mental health support groups in remote communities. The environment and experience I aspire to create for my clients in my therapeutic approach, is a co-creation of my “personal and professional” and where I feel I am of most benefit and value.
Co-Creational Relationship Mentoring crossed my path in 2014. I attended a weekend seminar in Killarney, presented by Dr Tony Humphreys. The title attracted my attention, “Whose Life Are You Living”.
Relationship mentoring is a philosophy and approach which embodies the belief in each individuals “unique ability” to find their own solutions in a way that works best for them. An alternative philosophy, I would have whole-heartedly embraced and welcomed back in 2004 at a vulnerable place and time in exchange of a diagnostic, prognostic and prescriptive one I was to experience and endure for a ten-year period.
Relationship mentoring is for all individuals curious and searching for a reasonable understanding of all the un-reasonable “how and why’s” they are currently experiencing themselves and others, in all relationships and environments. Mentoring provides opportunities for adults to safely explore their own interior worlds, and appreciate how that world “interplays” with the interior world of others, in different environments. When both relationships go without reflection, great personal and inter-personal conflict and neglect can occur. Exploring how everything we think, feel, say and do is influenced by our current “sense of self” and greatly influences our current “state of wellbeing”, positively or negatively.
In the safety of relationship with my mentor, I got up close and personal with my interior world and how I was and had been in “Relationship” with all my past and current selves personally and inter-personally. From that place of safety, self-observation and self-enquiry I began replacing a conditioned mindset of “what’s wrong with me” to “what happened to me”. A shift from my critical self to my curious and compassionate self was the pathway to appreciating the valuable “hidden” blessings and insights in all of my “WTF” (What the Feelings!) and experiences, past and current.
Co-creational therapy allowed me to shift from a hopeless place of existence to a hopeful one “co-creation” side by side! A shift, that was to play a significant healing part in my recovery journey. Together, You and I, co- create and explore “WTF” (What the Feelings) going on inside of you, and between you and significant others. I began to realise and appreciate it doesn’t have to be and feel as heavy-hearted and complicated as the stories we believe about ourselves, our experiences, and of others.
Essentially for me the gateway to my recovery emerged in be-friending and appreciating the value of my past and current personal and inter-personal experiences and relationships which “all” had and have valuable meaning, purpose and intention and do not have to feel like a life-sentence.
Our Past Is Always in Our Present! All news to me! In my mid-forties! How was I only hearing this for the first time!
IT DIDN’T START WITH YOU!
